- Ryu Seung-min, ISSF chairman: "Opportunity for strengthening international sports diplomacy capability"
On March 18, a signing ceremony was held at Samjung Hotel, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, for a co-operation agreement with the aim of contributing to the development of international sports in Korea and Korea through mutual exchange and co-operation.
Kim Un-yong Sports Committee (KUYSC) and International Sports Strategy Forum (ISSF) officials took a commemorative photo after signing the co-operation agreement.
Further to this agreement, the KUYSC will establish a close network between the two organizations, co-operating with each other to support the international sporting events, sharing and distributing the latest international sports issues and information and jointly hosting and supporting international sports events.
"We are delighted to conclude a co-operation agreement with the International Sports Strategy Forum. We will continue to do our best to uphold the legacy of late Dr. Kim Un-yong and develop international sports diplomacy in the future," said Seo Hyun-suk, KUYSC’s secretary general.
Ryu Seung-min, the ISSF chairman, said, "I will personally try to ensure that this agreement will promote civilian sports diplomacy and further strengthen Korea's international sports diplomacy capacity."
Recently, Ryu Seung-min (IOC athlete member) has been appointed chairman of the Asia Olympic Council (OCA)’s athletes committee.
The ISSF is a foundation of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, established to promote international sports co-operation and contribute to the enhancement of Korea's international competitiveness.
Founded in 2011 under the name Korea Sports Diplomatic Center the ISSF has been engaged in domestic sports advancement and development, involving international sports network formation, international sports information and analysis, international sports jobs promotion and youth Olympic camps.
